There is good news for one of my patent clients this week. His utility patent application for a consumer home-décor product was allowed nine months after we filed. No rejections, no amendments–just a Notice of Allowance. I have older patent applications which still haven’t seen the light of day. This one? Done. I wish I could tell you this is typical, but it is not. Most utility patent applications take at least two years to process, often longer. Nonetheless, we celebrate this victory and look forward to many more.
