The law firm recently took a well-deserved trip to Sin City to unwind. I must say the warm desert air really agreed with me. I took a lot of what was new (the Sphere and a Zoox self-driving taxi) and not-as-new (Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band), but I digress. One afternoon, I took a side trip beyond the neon and glitz of the Strip, to visit the headquarters of patent client Frameless, LLC. Founder Will is an accomplished chef, hospitality professional, film director and die-hard comic and movie buff (all photos and identifying details are shared with express client permission). He and I have been working together for 9 years but I had never met him in person.

Will’s love of all things media led to the invention of two patented Frameless Artwork Display systems. One is for flat artwork such as posters and comic books. The other is for three-dimensional, box-shaped art. Will is a true Wallerstein-IP client success story. He hired me 9 years ago to investigate whether his frameless system was patentable. It was! He showed my positive opinion letter to the bank and, based on my letter, gave him a small business loan. He used that loan to buy supplies and parts. Fast-forward to today where he makes and sells hundreds of Frameless® kits, in several sizes, to comic book, movie poster and art collectors worldwide.
